Welcome back to issue 3 of The Monday Mowdown — the Twin Cities weekly lawn care newsletter.

Let’s close out the growing season strong.

Here is 1 action, 2 seasonal to-dos, and 3, a quote to fuel your week ahead:

1 — Action

This week (Oct 20) is likely your final mow window before frost settles in.

Monday to Wednesday will be dry and cool. It's perfect for one last trim at about 2 inches high.

If you’re using a robot mower, plan to dock it by the weekend. Make sure to clean it and bring the base station inside before it gets freezing.

2 — Seasonal To-Dos

  1. Feed your lawn - Apply a potassium-rich fertilizer now. This helps strengthen roots before dormancy.

  2. Clear debris — Leaves, toys, and branches can trap moisture. They may suffocate grass under snow.

  3. Winterize your gas mower — Empty fuel (or add stabilizer), clean blades, and store in a dry place.

3 — A Quote To Fuel Your Week

“Rest is not idleness, but preparation for growth.” — Unknown

Let that be your lawn’s mantra: rest now, rise greener later.

That’s your 1-2-3 lawn routine this week

Give your lawn a strong send-off, prep your gear, and breathe easy knowing spring will thank you.

Stay sharp,
Ben
